"Pursue that flighty temptress, adventure"
Prepare to be terrified: Meredith's inner thoughts, uncensored. So, in the mighty words of J.K. Rowling, "Let us step into the night, and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure."
7/8/2017 0 Comments A Year In PicturesSo it's been a while.I haven't posted anything since my blog post about the election. All of the senior year activities overwhelmed me and I was terrible about making time for myself to pause and reflect-this mainly ended up happening when I was lying in bed at night trying to fall asleep. But as I have been freed from all of my St. Mary's responsibilities , I feel the need for a creative outlet to write. So I'm not sure what path this blog will take-travel, lifestyle, or prattle (if this is case someone please stage an intervention). But for the moment, I'd like to share some photos from the last year of my life. I've become very nostalgic this summer, because the people in these photographs have done so much for me and it's really hit me that nothing's ever going to be the same again. And though it's time to move on and grow, I want to preserve these memories that have made me who I am today. So if you're still reading this, thank you and enjoy. the first week of school Derby Day (first attempt) the non-lifers photoshoot (while the SMES lifers took important pictures) Soccer a bus breakdown and a lot of tears later November 8th (the file is a short clip from a snapchat story of some members of our class singing "Let There Be Peace on Earth" on election night)
Thanksgiving 2016 This year my father's brother and his family, along with his mother, stayed with us at my family's lake house. On Thanksgiving Day, my mother's father unexpectedly passed away, and the last photo on the right is one that we found of him on that day. In the picture, my brother and I are sitting on his lap as we enjoyed the view of the beach at Topsail Island. He was the only grandfather I ever knew. January 21st the Women's March on Washington Swimming (the county and state meets, with a 4th place finish at state! to gurkeys!) PYC Retreat 2017 Derby Day (second attempt) Spring Break 2017 I guess I talked about Cuba so much that my family wanted to go. My second trip to Cuba was with Idlewild Presbyterian Church. We worked with our sister church in Cardenas before spending time in Havana being tourists. Last YIG :( The Governor and her speechwriters. Yes, we were in Gov. Cab. Prom! White Thursday and Black Friday This is a combo event because we were too busy experiencing these moments to worry about pictures. BSMF 2017 Lacrosse Lacrosse comes last before Baccalaureate because chronologically, it ended the day before Baccalaureate. Freshman year we lost in the Sweet Sixteen, this year we lost in the Final Four. This team made school history and that was so exciting to be a part of; but more importantly, we were a family. Here are a few glimpses of tender moments with my teammates. Baccalaureate! Yay! Graduation! Wooooo!
